3 Feng Shui Tips to Make Your Mornings Less Stressful

stress free morning resized 600For many parents, the end of the school year doesn't mean an end to morning stress. It might mean added stress, as your children's routine changes, (maybe they need to go to daycamp, daycare or a relative's home instead of to school) but you still need to get out of the house in time and get to work.

Establishing a morning routine can help set the right pace and tone for your day for greater success in all areas of life. Here are three tips to make mornings less stressful.


1. Make time for a peaceful breakfast. - Rather than rushing out of the house chewing on a granola bar (or worse, a doughnut) set aside time in the morning for everyone to enjoy breakfast, even if it's just a quick meal like whole grain toaster waffles, fresh fruit, or cereal. This is the perfect time of year to eat outside on the patio or deck. Consider eating before the rest of your morning routine, to start the day off in a healthy, peaceful, stress-free way.

2. Set out everyone's clothes the night before. - This simple tip can shave minutes off your morning routine. And if you Feng Shui your closet for better organization, you'll have more time in the evening, too.

3. Keep your wallet, keys and cell phone in the same place all the time. - For some of my Feng Shui clients, just hanging a spot for their keys and making a shelf or placing a basket for their wallet and cell phone near their front entrance improved their quality of life immediately. No more rushing around in the morning hunting for these necessities to start your day.
