It's Never Too Late To Balance Your Life and Discover Your Purpose
Are you still confused about “what you want to be when you grow up”?
In the words of George Eliot, the famous 19th century novelist who used a pseudonym to gain accepted in a then-male-dominated field, “You're never too old to be what you might have been.”
However, as we get older, we may feel a sense of panic if we still haven't found fulfillment in our love life, family, career or social activities. It's time to take a good, honest look at what could be holding you back.
Are You Afraid You're “Too Old” to Change Careers?
From entrepreneurs in their fifties (newsflash: 50 is not old!) to actresses like Kathy Bates who didn't make it big until later in life, there are plenty of success stories about women who find happiness, fulfillment, and financial security in their second (or third, or fourth) careers. If you take a chance and you still don't find fulfillment in one you're doing, try again.
Don't Know Where to Start?
Begin by talking to other people in fields that interest you -- or other women who have successfully changed careers. You may
activate the positive chi in the helpful people section of your home or apartment to intentionally attract the mentors you need into your life.
If you have no idea what you really want to do, talk to people in a variety of fields that seem appealing. Learn as much as you can about as much as you can. By opening your mind to the possibilities, your one true passion will eventually reveal itself.
Go For It
You've probably heard the argument: “But if I start [going to college, having children, launching a business...] now, I'll be such-and-such years old when I finish.” The question: “How old will you be in that many years if you don't go after your dream?”
Going after that long-unfulfilled dream -- or just figuring out what that dream may be -- is easier when you align your space to show the Universe you are open to possibilities.
