Feng Shui for Business: Host a Sidewalk Sale to Welcome Customers

In a previous post, I talked about how frustrating it is to try to enter a business and realize that one of the front doors is locked.

You can welcome opportunity, positive chi and buying customers into your business with a Feng Shui entryway that includes a clean, unlocked front door and a wide open path into your business.

As the whether gets nicer, you may want to attract people by tossing both doors wide open, putting a rack outside, and hosting a sidewalk sale. Nothing says “come in” better than discount prices and enticing merchandise on your front sidewalk. Make sure you don't actually block your door with the sale merchandise; leave a clear path for entry.

More Feng Shui Tips for a Retail Business

- When you place your sidewalk sale signs, make sure they are neat and professional. Blue backgrounds with bold print convey a sense of trustworthiness, as does blue type on a white background. (Check out the #1 Internet retailer, Amazon.) Red is also an auspicious color. Make sure everything is spelled correctly in order to make a positive first impression.

- The merchandise you display can be in colors drawn from nature or in bold, eye-catching colors like red (or a mix of the two). These will catch the attention of passersby and encourage them to make a purchase.

- Do everything you can to keep the area in front of your store neat and attractive. Pick up garbage and debris, and, if possible, place flowers or live plants near the entryway of your store.
