How To Use Natural Products for Positive Chi
As we embark upon spring cleanings -- and maybe even a Feng Shui space cleansing -- there are a lot of products out there that can help us achieve our objective of a clean, fresh home. Many, however, use harsh chemicals that can cause respiratory ailments, allergies and other issues.
It's always best to use natural products to clean and beautify your home, rather than factory-created substitutes. Not only does the life chi in many organic products contribute to a positive atmosphere in your home, you won't be contaminating your home or apartment (not to mention your body) with man-made chemicals.
Here are some all-natural cleaning products that work as well as (or better than) chemically-laden solutions.
- Vinegar - Vinegar can be used to clean practically anything! (It's not recommended to use it on your flat-screen HDTV, however... You can use distilled water and a microfiber cloth, though.) The scent will dissipate as soon as the vinegar dries, and you'll get a streak-free clean on your windows, mirrors and stainless steel.
- Lemon - Mix the juice of a lemon with vinegar for a fresh scent, or use it on its own on stainless steel appliances and in your sink.
- Baking soda - Create a paste of baking soda, water and lemon for a fresh-smelling cleaner that works well on ceramic and bathtubs, with no abrasion.
- Read the ingredients - Several mass market retailers sell “green” and all-natural cleaning products. Read the label to be sure of what you're getting.
Feng Shui stretches to every aspect of our life. If something creates positive, life-affirming chi and is good for your health, it's good Feng Shui.
