How To Care For Your Feng Shui Plants

feng shui bambooBamboo is considered one of the luckiest plants in Feng Shui and can be used to effectively empower several trigrams of the Feng Shui Ba Gua. You can also use it in the appropriate section on your desk, where it can bring you good health and good fortune.

In Feng Shui, we prefer bamboo with three or five stalks, and a red ribbon around the stalks for even greater fortune.

Bamboo is also one of the easiest plants to care for. By following these tips, your bamboo will grow rapidly and bring you years of good luck.

Potting: Bamboo thrives in loose sand or soil with lots of bottom drainage.

Water: Change water every week. Do not permit the top of the soil to dry out between waterings, and keep water levels an inch from the base of the canes.

Sunlight and temperature: Bamboo prefers indirect sunlight, making it the perfect plant for offices or spaces without many windows. A temperature that is comfortable for most human beings -- about 65 to 70 degress -- is perfect for bamboo, too.

Fertilizer: Fertilizer is not necessary, but you can add a small amount of African Violet fertilizer to stimulate growth.
