Feng Shui Basics: Windows Are the Eyes of Your Home or Apartment

The doors and windows of your home are the places where chi enters and leaves. As such, there are certain Feng Shui rules you want to follow to ensure the flow of positive chi through your space. Chi carries with it good health, abundance, and opportunities.
Follow these Feng Shui rules to improve the flow of chi in your home and make sure your windows are the optimal size, shape and Feng Shui placement.
Window size - Windows, should be in proportion to the home or apartment. Windows should always be smaller than the door, although it's okay if a larger window is divided into smaller panes of glass. Avoid tall, narrow windows, which limit opportunities. Like a Feng Shui mirror, a window's top pane should be higher than the tallest resident.
Window openings - Following Feng shui rules, windows should open outward, not inward.
Window placement - South-facing windows are the best to let in lots of natural sunshine during the day. These are also considered “green” as the sunlight they let in can keep a house warmer in the winter. Western facing windows may let in too much glaring sunlight during the later part of the day.
