Feng Shui Bed Placement In A Child’s Bedroom

feng shui childs bed resized 600Does your child have nightmares about monsters under the bed or in the closet? Does your young child have difficulty falling asleep? If you don't have proper Feng Shui bed placement in a child's bed room, this could be the cause.

Proper Feng Shui bed placement for a bed or crib is in the command position. This means your child can see the door from bed, but the bed will not be directly in line with the door. The bed should also not be pointing toward the door; this is considered the coffin position and can prevent a good night's sleep. You can refer to this article to see illustrations of proper Feng Shui bed placement.

Proper Feng Shui bed placement gives a child a sense of security and control. This is an important part of a child's development. If your child  is having trouble sleeping, make sure the bed is in the command position as the first step to a good night's sleep. If your child wakes during the night because of nightmares or refuses to go to sleep because there are monsters in the closet or under the bed, Feng Shui bed placement will help provide a feeling of safety and inner peace.

It's perfectly normal for an infant under a year old to wake up every few hours. A baby's crib should also be placed in the command position, but that won't keep a hungry baby from waking up. Proper Feng Shui bed placement can help older children sleep, while providing security for even the youngest baby.

Young children often feel as if they have no control over their own lives or decisions. For a toddler in the “terrible twos,” who is testing your boundaries, proper Feng Shui bed placement may alleviate tantrums as children will gain a sense of control not only when they sleep, but during waking hours, too.

I had terrible nightmares as a child. Much of the time, my bed was not in the command position. The head of my bed was on the same wall as the door. My daughters never liked sleeping in there own bedroom. The bed was not in a command position - again the head of the bed was on the same wall as the door. Now they are in beds that are in the command position, and I do see a positive difference. Amazing!

Kris, the position you refer to is the what is called the GateKeeper position when your head rests on the same wall as the door. This will result in poor and difficult sleep.

Thank you so much for sharing this and glad to hear that things are improving.
