Take Time to Appreciate Nature

Central Park Feng ShuiFor those of you who follow me on Facebook, you know I do my morning Chi Kung exercises in Central Park. Central Park is a beautiful, green oasis in the middle of the proverbial concrete jungle. It's wonderful to have the opportunity to reconnect with nature in this way every morning.

As the weather begins to warm up, it's a good opportunity for everyone to get back in touch with nature. Wherever you live -- in the smallest town or biggest city -- you can find a park, mountainside, beach, lake, river or even just a patch of grass where you can sit, meditate, exercise or otherwise appreciate nature.

Use All Your Senses

As you immerse yourself in nature, be fully “in the moment.” Use all your senses. Smell the salty sea air and feel the sand between your toes on the beach. Notice how the sun warms each grain of sand and the warmth flows upward through your body. Feel a blade of grass in the park. Take in the scents of the dirt, the flowers.  Remember it is all connected through the energy of the Universe.

Take Note of the Life in Nature
The grass and trees are alive, of course, but also notice the birds, squirrels, even the ants going about their business. These animals and insects represent living chi and raise the energy of the space, making it even more desirable for you to spend time there.

What's your favorite spot to visit when you want to reconnect with nature?

The very first thing I do as soon as I wake up is look for the rising sun..Just Thank the Lord for another new day...and ofcourse, taking a walk in the park with the morning light and shadow playing around you and the sound of the birds or sometimes just the quiet and serenity..all these give me joy..and as one of you mentioned ones own backyard would be great..like on bad weather days..I just take my morning cup of cheer and sit on the steps leading to the backyard..watch the squirrels and other birds as they get busy too...
