This really is a great tip. My kitchen is in the SE and the stove is sort of tucked away and the far end. Many times I have been startled by my family coming in and not heard them until they were right up on me as I am cooking. Adding a mirror or a reflective object above my stove did the trick. Great as getting startled I almost got burned. Thank you Ken!

my is planed to be an open dinning and kitchen all tacked in the SE geographically. advise.

Just like Steven in the comment above, our kitchen and opening dining is the same as well as being in two bagua quadrants the SE and South. Can you enhance and activate the kitchen with "financial" cures and enhancers such as adding some of the known feng shui items such as for 2010 the recommendation of a blue rhino and elephant in the SE to protect from robbery and break in's due to the #7 star placement? As well as in the South which has the #3 Jade star for arguments curing with using fire elements? It is a bit confusing especially when an area falls into two bagua areas. we just completed our renovation and I am concerned because the kitchen is now across the back of the house - stove is centered on the wall (hopefully not too close to center of the house) and sink is in the island. Not sure how to place a mirror since stove has 20 in stainless riser (like a diner) could that be like a mirror??

Olga, Yes, you can place a mirror above the stove so that it does two things. 1. If you are able to see behind you then you are in a command position. 2. If you can see the burners reflected in the mirror, it doubles your burners and as a result, increases your wealth / income.

Nina, the position of the mirror is fine. One of the goals is to put you in a command position so that you can see behind you. This accomplishes that goal and don't worry about the rest.
