How To Attract Positive People & Wealth into Your Life with Flowers

Feng Shui FlowersHave you begun planting your garden for this year yet? Even though April showers supposedly bring May flowers, it's not too late.  If you live in an apartment, you can use flower boxes for the same effect as a full-fledged garden. Fresh flowers enliven a space and activate the chi in a given area.

You can also use flowers of different colors to improve different areas of your life. When you lay the Feng Shui Bagua over your plot of land, you will see how different areas of your yard or home relate to different areas of your life. Similarly, different colors relate to the sections of the Bagua. To activate a particular sector, say wealth or helpful people, plant flowers of a corresponding color in that corner.

You can use this technique of adding colorful flowers to your property, home or even inside your apartment to:

- increase your wealth
- do better in school
- advance your career
- attract helpful people in your life

The Power of White Flowers
How do you achieve these results? Use the color that relates to the section of the bagua you wish to activate. For instance, if you desire to expand your social network with people who have the skill -- and desire -- to help you in your business, plant white flowers in the helpful people section of your yard, place them in a room of your home or apartment that corresponds with the helpful people section of the bagua.

White also corresponds with children, so planting white flowers in the section of your yard that corresponds with children can help a couple increase their fertility to conceive a child. White flowers in that corner of your home or yard can also bring good fortune to your children and improve your relationship with them.

Increase Your Wealth with Flowers
Similarly, violets or other purple flowers in the wealth corner can help you increase your income, as blue, purple and red are colors for wealth. Imagine the results of planting red roses, violets and lavender bushes in the wealth corner of your home, or in a flower box or placing in the wealth corner of your apartment? Not only do these colors look beautiful together, but you'll attract wealth to your home with positive living chi.

Attract Love with Flowering Plants

A single person hoping to attract love can activate the marriage corner of the home or apartment with white, pink and red flowers. If you want year-long positive results when you plant flowers, keep blooming seasons in mind. You may need to plant different flowers at different times of the year in order to ensure year-round success.

Will you be purchasing flowers this week? Is so, what colors?

Why You Don't Want a White Picket Fence and Other Feng Shui Tips for Your Home's Exterior

Black Picket Fence

In our last tip, we talked about the five-elemental colors and how they can impact the Feng Shui of your home and your health, energy and fortune. But the five elemental colors are not limited just to your home's walls, roof, and trim.

Once you understand how the five elements feed or destroy each other, you can maximize their power on any section of your home's exterior. Here are some Feng Shui tips to use the five elemental colors on different parts of your home's exterior.

Fences
The old suburban dream of a house with a white picket fence is actually bad Feng Shui. White fences symbolize death and illness. If you're stuck with a white picket fence, tie 9 red ribbons around it (9, representing the culmination of a cycle, is an auspicious number) or plant green vines to climb the fence.

A natural wood fence, unpainted, doesn't have enough vibrancy. Again, use the colors red and green to create prosperity. For instance, shrubs with green leaves and red flowers or berries planted at the base of the fence mimic an apple tree, a symbol of prosperity.

If you can paint your fence, the best colors are red or green, symbolizing power and strength or growth and vitality, respectively. If you have a green lawn, you can paint your fence black to follow the elemental cycle, since since water (black) feeds wood (green).

Window boxes
Window boxes with live flowers bring vitality -- living things will always raise the chi of a space. You can strengthen their power by using the five elemental colors in their creative pattern, either in relation to the whole house or in relation to the window casement.

For instance, if the window is white, paint the window box black, since metal creates water or brown/yellow, since metal comes out of earth. Make sure the color you choose complements your home's overall exterior design. Also, make sure the window box is a different color than the casement.

Porches
You can incorporate your front porch into your five-elemental color scheme with positive results. For instance, four of the five elements may be represented by your driveway, walls, trim and roof. Your porch can be painted in the fifth-element color.

If you're not employing the five-elemental colors, paint your porch the same color as the walls or trim, whichever is more aesthetically pleasing.

Learn How Mirrors in the Bedroom Can Enhance Your Relationship

Feng Shui Relationship Love Sex

Many Feng Shui experts warn against placing mirrors in the bedroom. Multiple myths and superstitions surround mirrors. People who are against placing mirrors in the bedroom often have one of three arguments:

1. Some people believe that when you sleep, your spirit and energy leaves your body. As your energy or spirit returns, it may get confused and enter the mirror rather than your body.

2. Some people believe mirrors in the bedroom effectively “double” the number of people in the room and can lead to extramarital affairs.

3.  People claim that if you wake up in the middle of the night and spot yourself in the mirror, you may get startled and have a hard time falling asleep again.

However, these are simply beliefs steeped in superstition. From my point of view and practice, mirrors in the bedroom can actually enhance a relationship.

A large round mirror on the wall above the headboard can relax the eyes, reduce tension and improve a marriage. Add a mirror near the foot of the bed, and you’ll see an infinite doubling of the image, which can provide a sense of joyful expansion, completion and advancement. Both options can actually improve communication with your loved one. Mirrors can also be placed on the left and right sides of the bed for a similar effect.

One thing to be cautious of, however, is that the bedroom is yin energy and mirrors can be considered yang. Be careful about energizing the bedroom too much with a mirror that reflects morning sunlight into the room.

Aside from that one consideration, however, mirrors in the bedroom can actually relax couples and enhance relationships. Place mirrors in the bedroom wherever you feel comfortable doing so.

Use Feng Shui to Enhance Your Thanksgiving Feast

You can use Feng Shui to create a complete sensory experience for your Thanksgiving guests even before they walk in the door. Make sure the path to your home and the entrance is well-lighted, open and inviting. This welcomes guests, as well as prosperity and abundance, into your home.

Make sure the path to your home and the entrance is illuminated. Bells on the door will greet guests with a cheerful chime. Consider all five senses as you use these additional Feng Shui tips to inspire a festive mood in your home this Thanksgiving.

Before Dinner
When guests arrive, they will be greeted by the aroma of comfort foods. Offer them a beverage and snacks, such as an arrangement of nuts and other seasonal treats. Create color balance in your display of food to enhance guests' appetites. For instance, serve beige or off-white foods in brightly-colored, festive bowls, and arrange a vegetable tray with an assortment of peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and celery to present a range of colors.

Thanksgiving Dinner
Pay careful attention to the seating arrangement. A round table, with no beginning and no end, is best, but don't worry if your table is rectangular. Position it so everyone has enough space to sit. You don't want guests pushed into a corner or feeling trapped.

Glance around the room and consider each seat. Is a buffet table or china cabinet with sharp corners pointing directly at a guest? Corners create "poison arrows" known as Sha Chi or "killing energy." In the short term, these could make the person sitting in their path feel uncomfortable. You can drape live greenery across a sharp corner to lessen the negative energy.

Arrange chairs so that no one has his back to the door. You can move the table out into the center of the room if necessary. The host should sit in the command position, which is at an angle from the entrance into the room. This position allows the host to see the door but not be directly in line with it.

Positive Energy at the Table
Unscented votive candles placed around the table create a sense of warmth and joy. A lively centerpiece of fresh flowers, pumpkins, gourds and fruit activates the energy at the table. A creative arrangement will also spark conversation. Make sure centerpieces are low to the table so they don't block your guests' view of each other and inhibit conversation.

Hanging a mirror on the wall next to the table "multiplies" your feast, encouraging abundance in the year ahead. Serve a unique dish that has significance within your family. You can also ask your guests to bring one of their own "signature" dishes and share the recipe with everyone.

Enhance the atmosphere with fun holiday music or a playlist of your guests' favorite songs. Keep music low so it doesn't interfere with conversation.

After-Dinner Activities
It's okay if everyone wants to retire to the living room and watch the football game, but consider other social activities you can enjoy while the game plays in the background. Play a board game or put together a puzzle. Remember to snap lots of photos and share them with your guests after the event.

Why not start a tradition of taking a walk outside to appreciate the scenery and the cool autumn air? After all, the practice of Feng Shui teaches us to celebrate our environment, both natural and manmade.

What Thanksgiving traditions make guests feel comfortable in your home? Will small changes to your holiday décor improve the atmosphere?
