It's September And I'm On Track With My New Year's Resolution

It is now September and I'm 9 months into my New Year's resolution of giving up alcohol for the year. This means no wine, cocktails or even beer. Not that I drank that much to begin with. I would have a drink once every couple of months with friends or during social occasions.

This resolution came to me very strongly. I took time to investigate why. I learned that the reason I drank was not beneficial to me or empowering to what I wanted to accomplish.

When we use substances to help us become a different person, it means that we may be imbalanced and not be in true alignment with ourselves or connected with our higher self.

Take a moment today and think about two things you could do today to improve your health, quality of life and enable you to connect with your true self. Maybe it is giving up something or maybe it is adding a new ritual. Feel free to share the two items in the comments section below.

If I had to think of an easy way to help you get started and learn EXACTLY how to create attraction fast with Feng Shui… I would tell you to go check out my eBook “Feng Shui Secrets: What Everyone Should Know About How To Be Successful With Feng Shui.”

You can learn the BASIC of how to create attraction of money, love and career success and I also share with you some great ideas for inexpensive or free ways to implement Feng Shui, no interior design or expensive decorating required. Go get more information here: Feng Shui Secrets Free Trial

I MUST meditate on a regular basis. I've totally fallen off the wagon this summer in regards to my spiritual studies. Thank goodness my study group starts again this month because that will get me back on track and meditating on a regular basis.

I have been feeling this very strongly this year - keeping the body detoxified, although I have yet to undergo a formal detox. I'm a little overwhelmed by all the possibilities! Not using stimulants to temporarily enhance one's experience is both advisable and brave. We want to experience the moment as it IS, not hiding behind a haze.

I've done the no alcohol. I don't consider myself a drunk or having had any issues with substance abuse, however, I realized I was drinking to make other people happy and I would keep going to stay relaxed. They wanted me to try a glass or 2 and I enjoyed the feeling, so I had another glass or 2 to end the night. I started this when I went to a vacation in Spain, it was challenging because my family (who lives in Spain) didn't appreciate/respect my wishes, but I was strong. My mother would say "just put a lil' bit on your tongue, just to taste it...it's sooo good" and it just made me realize even more that it was about them, not me. I did it long enough to bring control back to myself. I think I should do this again. However, my New Year's resolution was being happy, and I struggle with that, but I think I'm doing a better job than I was last year.

This is a perfect reminder:I never made a goal for the year. Yoga. I do 2 minutes of lunges every day because my toothbrush cycle is that long. Someone said that if I do something every day for 2 weeks that it will become a habit. It's working for me. So I will take this resolution reminder to make yoga a habit again. I will improve the way I think and physically feel.
