What Do You Want To Do?

describe the image

This is a common question. It could be discussing what you want to have for a meal, discussing evening plans or even trying to figure out what color appliance you want to purchase. What I want you to think about is what did you want to do when you were a child? What did you want to be? What do you want to be today? Who do you want to be?

It is not a question where you have to determine to be someone else, it is a question that you can ask your core and listen to what answers. Allow yourself to be, to be your true self and remove the filters that say you're not able to reach your dreams. You can start today. Start making progress towards what you truly want to do and you will be rewarded in more ways we know of.

Ask yourself this question, "what 3 things must I do this week to make progress toward returning to my true self and doing what I love?"

Share with me in the comments below the 3 things you MUST do to move you one step closer to reality and your true self.

This is all great. Next question to ask yourself is how. And list some items on how you can achieve those items.

This is something I've been thinking about for a while now. As a child, I always wanted to be what I thought would make other happy, however, I did have a dream of opening an all boys school for those in need of help (an odd dream/vision for a teenager to have!). I fell into higher education administration by accident without the proper credentials so I know it was divine intervention. Now I feel this "tug" between education and the arts (I'm a performing artist). I do not like teaching but still like the process of education. Very interesting predicament to be in! - Smile.

Good one!

1. Pay bills/stick to budget

2. Enjoy each moment for what it is.

3. Take some ME time.

It feels like I have so many things to do just to curve out a living for myself and kids. But I remember writing a short story for a continuing education class in the 90's. the teacher liked it so much she published it in something.

I have always wanted to be a writer but life seems to be getting in my way. I would like to write 2 pages of a short story that I have had in my head for a while. (I have had so many short story ideas but can never focus long enough to even begin writing). So my hope is 1. to write 2 pages of a short story. 2. take real time to be in the moment with my kids so that I can truely enjoy the time with them.

3. Try to remember what it felt like to dream and to hope for greater things like when I was a kid.

Thank you Ken, helpeful to me today by providing support to what I also value and want to do with my life:

Prime goal to move me forward now is to get myself to India to be with this teacher there--

1. Call AAA & get the ball rolling to get the info I need...I don't have to get all the info in one time but just get myself to call her and find out what I need to do to start..maybe go there, too, in person this week...

2. Study the 2 types of travel insurance info I have, get price quotes and more info if necessary, and decide which one to get.

3. Do something to get my expenses in order...current cash flow or cash on hand would be helpful to know..I have a week..Maybe I can come up with one specific financial goal among many to do and stick to...instead of 3 or 4 and not even following through on one of them...maybe decide which is the most important..or the easiest...now the easiest would be the most fun to do...ha! ha! maybe I can come up with one of the goals to do that is easiest and pick that one? ha! As you can see, organization in this way is not my strong suit and not easy for me these days! And the funny thing is that I was an accounts payable clerk for 7 years at the job I quit and retired from...and I never really ever fit the accountant type mold...and now I really have left that line of work and how I even did that for 7years is really a miracle...I guess that is one reason I left...i am and was more of an intuitive accountant...like make piles of paperwork and decide which pile to work on today...the expense pile would be good for this week! And decide which of the 3 or 4 expense piles I can work on this week! And hope that pile has all the info I need in it! If it isn't , I am in trouble and switch to another task or goal for the week!

Yes, I am joking and having a chuckle here with you all..ha! ha!thanks for the opportunity to do that... it lightens the load...

The main thing is to get myself to work on these practical tasks and carry them out..to focus on this goal and sit down and do these tasks..not overdo but just do.. even if it's not the perfect thing or the whole thing I get done..just do something and try to get myself to do just little amounts..organizing, concentrating, sticking to a schedule hugely difficult for me now..since I am under so much stress and trauma..clouds my thinking and rational abilities...hard for an intuitive like me anyway under nonstressful circumstances...take care, and thanks. Do some "backwards planning" to figure out exactly WHAT my goals are and where I want to be.

I feel like I'm living my true life purpose (writing, helping people, sharing information) but without a clear long-term destination in mind.

This is something to think about, for sure... Thanks for a great post, Ken!
