What Is Your Desired Outcome?
Posted by Ken Lauher on Wed, Jul 28, 2010
Sometimes we get in the habits of doing things to just check them off the to do list. When was the last time you asked yourself, what is the purpose of this? I have found that when you ask yourself, "What is my desired outcome?" that it can change the way you approach your to do list and can produce results that you're proud of.
A recent example of this was when I was in the process of signing a card for a friend whose father passed away. I knew how much he honored and adored his father so I asked myself, what is my desired outcome for writing in this card? The answer, I wanted to create an experience that he could treasure and be proud of rather than just saying I'm sorry.
The result, I wrote the following, "The characteristics that you adore your father for live within you. Treasure them. Be grateful for them. Share them with the world and your father lives on - everyday of your life."
So ask yourself today as you tackle new projects and plan your day, "What is my desired outcome?" and share with me the results or how it shifted your thinking, approach and outcome.
