5 Questions That Can Result In Heroic Progress

Ask yourself the following questions and answer them as best you can at this moment. If possible, record those answers in writing. Then return to these questions for reconsideration whenever you need some extra motivation.
1. What are my most important goals in life - the things I truly believe, with all my heart, are worthwhile? What is my greatest dream and highest aspiration? What am I or could I be most passionate about?
2. How does each goal relate to specific aspects of my life right now?
3. What past moments of heroic effort on my part toward achieving each of these goals do I recall? What circumstances or factors at the time helped me to make such an effort?
4. What circumstances or factors keep me from making a more heroic effort to achieve each of my goals? How are my own thoughts, beliefs, and habits holding me back? How, specifically, can I remove, counteract, or overcome these obstacles?
5. What steps could I take each day toward achieving each of my goals? Who might be willing and able to help? Whose example can I emulate?
Always remember that heroic effort does not necessarily mean doing big things. What makes an effort heroic is that it is insistent (you are committed to doing it), consistent (you stay focused on your goal), and persistent (you don't give up), and it is wise, appropriate, and dedicated to something beyond yourself.
Even very small actions, done faithfully and wholeheartedly day by day, can result in heroic progress. In fact that may be the only way true heroism manifests itself.
