Are You At Peace With Yourself?

 


Inner StrengthTake a moment and check in with your body. Are you tense, are you anxious, are you frustrated or do you feel fully relaxed and at peace?

One can actually observe how uncomfortable a person may be by viewing their outward movements such as bouncing their foot or by being in constant movement. Understand that all the skills you require are deep within you. Your job is to make peace with that inner stillness and to allow amazing things to flourish. This is when you can follow the chi and ride the wave rather than swimming against the tide.

As you progress through your day, take a moment to check in with your body and see if your shoulders are tense. Take just 60 seconds to let yourself completely relax. Don't worry, you won't melt and you'll still be here but in a much better frame of mind because you will not be in your head but you'll be in your body. Just let go and know that your inner strength is so much stronger than any external forces. You are wise, beautiful, creative and empowered.

As I saw the title of your wisdom this morning, I asked myself that question. As I was reading the content, I noticed my "bouncing foot" and my tense shoulders. I guess I have the answer - I am not at peace, but will continue work towards this.

No, unfortunately I am not at peace with myself. I am trying to get better but I find that I constantly belittle and berate myself in my own head. My shoulders are always tense and I always feel like I am in fight or flight mode. Meditation helps but it is a slow process.

I read these articles and ones similar and understand a better way to live is to be happy and at peace with onesself but never see HOW to do it.Where does one go to find peace within themselves? What and how does one do it? Books? Classes?

Books are always a good start but best if you learn from true masters so that you can experience it first hand. They can provide insight that otherwise may be difficult to communicate in written form.

I wish i could be at peace with myself. My shoulders are always tense and i always have eto move. i am trying all kinds of htings and i tried meds but even they didnt work. where do you look for classes i mean do you google it and what exactly would you call the classes i need?

Some methods to get into a state of being at peace are: feeling your feet planted on the ground, breathing slowly and deeply, looking intensely at all the life going on around you, noticing every detail, aromas, the intensity of color, every sound you can perceive.  
 
Things that cause you to go out of that state can be as simple as not getting enough sleep, or feeding yourself, not exercising, overwork.  
 
Things that will definitely keep you OUT of that state: indulging in addictions-- food, drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, sex, shopping, drama. 
 
It's so simple, it's complicated. 
 
And it's not a destination, it is something that you can only have success with in the moment, one moment at a time.
