Can I Put A Feng Shui Water Fountain in The Bedroom?

Bedroom Water FountainMany people enjoy the soothing sound of a water fountain as they consider it relaxing, peaceful and soothing. I too feel this way about water fountains and have a fabulous fountain in my office. Many times while on the phone I've had people comment how much they enjoy hearing it in the background.

And that sound is the exact reason why I don't recommend a water fountain in the bedroom. The noise of a water fountain can lead to a disrupted sleep. This disrupted sleep can make you irritable and cause arguments with your significant other.

I've been on many consultations where a person has a fountain in the bedroom but has turned it off because it keeps them up at night. Others have said that it makes them want to use the restroom in the middle of the night. So then they have a water fountain taking up space and not running but never bother to remove it from the space. If this is you, take a moment to remove it from the bedroom or store it away.

I also don't recommend aquariums for the bedroom. They can be noisy with filters, pumps and can produce odors. I've also found that the fish can be disrupted in the middle of the night causing you to be startled suddenly, which, scatters your chi.

Have you ever had a fountain or fish tank in your bedroom? What was your experience?

Some others things to consider for the bedroom is the Feng Shui colors of a bedroom or see if clutter is getting in the way of your sex life.

What about CD's? Usually they are New Age/Relaxation?

Nope! Would not have a fountain or aquarium in the bedroom. Lights in the bedroom are either very dim or not at all when I'm in bed. I'm a sleeper (8 hrs sometimes more) and I like to pray, think and dream when I'm in bed.

However, I was born on March 11 so water (drink a LOT of it!) and the emotional and visual beauty of fish are ... you get the picture...LOVE THEM!

I'll have an aquarium and fountain some day very soon. They are so much a part of me... but they'll be in the living room. I'd love to have them positioned to seperate areas like the living room from dining area in an open floor plan.

Margaret,

Thanks for the question regarding the cd's. Playing cds while relaxing is fine. The cd's can also help you unwind and relax prior to bed time but I personally would not suggest playing them while sleeping.

Hi. I'm simply not buying the reasons I keep reading about not having a water fountain in the bedroom. In college a roommate had an aquarium (which I'm not going to have) and I liked it just fine. I love the sound of water and it relaxes me. Essentially, I'm at a point where if I really like something, it's good feng shui FOR ME. If you do not agree, please provide a better answer than the "Thus saith the feng shui experts" type of logic.

Thanks,

Philip
