Question: I'm confused as to whether you place the bagua over the whole house or a
room because it would be different because I'm trying to find the right place in
the house/room where I can boost the career/money energy.
Answer: Great question as you are not alone. Many others get frustrated with the Ba Gua when first introduced to the concept and not sure where or how to apply it.
The Ba Gua can be placed over the shape of a lot based on how the chi (energy) enters the lot, such as a driveway. When reviewing a lot, you're looking for missing sections of the Ba Gua, where the hills or slopes are in relation to the areas of the Ba Gua and how this may have an impact on the space.
Then the Ba Gua can be used to review the floor plan of a house or apartment. Again, this is based on how the chi or energy comes into the house. Typically, it is always based on the front door. You're looking at the layout of the space, what rooms fall into each area, where the bedrooms are positioned, meaning are they in the front half or back half of the house. Is an area a projection or a missing area.
The next step is to overlay the Ba Gua on a room. Again using the door as to how to overlay the Ba Gua on a room. This is most important for the master bedroom and can provide great insight into your life and current circumstances.
You can continue using the Ba Gua on a small scale such as a desk. If you overlay the Black Sect Ba Gua over a desk, the back left corner is wealth & prosperity and the back right corner is regarding relationships.
Regarding career / money energy. Those are two different areas in the Ba Gua and multiple ways to approach this. Sometimes you may actually activate the fame and recognition area so that you become more visible in your career. Or you may activate the knowledge area so that you can manage your finances better. And sometimes it may be something that you can do at work and outside of the house.
Take a look at your bedroom and then take a look at the overall floorplan to see what may be in the career and wealth areas.
You'll also want to
review the front entrance of your space to make sure that you are welcoming the wealth energy and opportunities into your life and space.

Question: I've been trying to spruce up my home a bit, and am wondering what the
best cures would be for areas where there's a blockage of the energy
flow that can't be removed, as my home has a few of these.
Answer: Each room, space and home is different. Based on the
limited amount of information that was provided, I'll share some tips
and ideas for you.
First off, make sure the space is well lite. Many times, just adding
additional lighting can help dramatically. I also recommend that you
may want to consider having the lights on a timer so that when you come
home in the evenings, your space welcomes you, and invites you in.
Consider adding life energy to a space such as flowers, plants and
displaying fresh fruit. Just adding these simple items can make a space
really begin to feel like a home.
Adding mirrors for dark areas can expand the space as well and lighten the feeling.
